Well, the wedding and honeymoon are over -- but there is nothing like reliving the day through pictures. Especially when you are a photographer yourself!! :)

Well, Dave and I were married yesterday -- and it went SO incredible that I would not change a thing (except for perhaps some sun)!!! And to top things off, our photographer (the talented Lauren Clark) already has two pictures on her blog! They are below, but her blog link is here if you want to see more of her work!

We are off to our honeymoon, so I am out of the office for quite some time!!! I am sure that I will have TONS of photos when we return, so check back next week sometime!

...Crazy Weekend for a Crazy Week!...

So this past weekend had SO much activity going on -- that I had to post a few pictures while I have a moment! First up was Friday's Lenexa BBQ. I was lucky enough to be an Ambassador this year with my friends Rachel & Courtney, and it was a great time! A long day, so we were totally exhausted by 8:30 after helping our teams...the second picture was to demonstrate just how tired we were...After some rest, Dave and I woke up the next morning for some Xtreme 4-wheeling out at Lake Pomona -- it was SO hot, but worth it for some of the mud! Here are a couple of the whole group, and me splashing through the creek!Finally on Sunday after some yard work and house cleaning, Dave and I went to a Pool Party at Mark and Rachel's house...and our first YouTube video ever was created:

Well all you faithful readers -- I am getting married on FRIDAY as many of you know -- so it may be a little while until I post, unless I bring the laptop along for some images from St. Lucia! Thanks for all the support from all of our friends and family, and we cannot wait to celebrate this weekend with all of you! :)

Yesterday was my last shoot before my OWN wedding which is next week -- and WOW was it a great one! Kara was incredible, and even let me try some shots with my brand new off-camera equipment. And I must say that I LOVE the results!!! See her slideshow HERE!

Last night I got to meet this little 1 1/2 year old girl -- and let me tell you she LOVES the Mini Cooper car! We put her in the passenger seat for a couple of pictures, and as soon as we took her out she was sobbing and reaching for the red Mini! Who knew kids this young had such great taste? :) There were so many of her and her family -- including grandparents who are visiting from India -- but here are my favorites and the SLIDESHOW!

Remember how I told you I have a lot of pregnant friends?? Well, 3 of the 14 babies were born within' a week, and next up is Braden! You may recall the images of Heather & Amy that I posted when both of them were pregnant, but now Heather has given birth to this beautiful baby boy! He was a little fussy at first (I HAD to take a picture of him crying!) but after a quick feeding he was ready to pose for me! Enjoy his slideshow here!

Yesterday the whole gang took my Dad out to Smiley's Golf Course for some EXTREME mini-golf! We took forever -- so perhaps we are not ready for the professional circuit. Yesterday I was finally able to go see our good friends, AND meet their new little girl! She is only a week old, and what a PRECIOUS little baby! Her face is just amazing, and she even kept her eyes open for some of the shots -- I am sure the huge camera making the noise was a little different than what she is used to! We got some great shots in her sweet nursery, and even some in her NIKE socks -- Mom said some royalties should be on the way... :) And she was still glowing, so I had to include a photo of her in the show!

So we are always trying to learn new things -- and you may recall some of the images from the seminar I attended in Atlanta. It is all about using off-camera lighting, and I have finally decided to purchase the equipment to make it happen for some more DRAMATIC images! Dave was nice enough to go on the back deck for a couple of minutes and let me test it a little -- and for not having all of the stuff yet, I like it! :) Stay tuned when my equipment arrives on the 18th...

Megan's Maternity Session!

On Monday my good friend Megan -- owner of the WONDERFUL dance studio where we met when we were little -- came over to be my guinea pig for her maternity shots. I have always wanted to try something a little different, and she was willing to try it all! We had fans, chiffon fabric, and a lot of FUN!! Thank you Megan, and I can't wait for you to have that little baby so we will all know if it will be a "he" or a "she"!! Here is your slideshow -- enjoy!

Kris & Bryan's Wedding Day!

Saturday was a beautiful & perfect day for a wedding -- and it happen to be the wedding day of two attorneys -- Kris and Bryan! Talk about two laid-back people, they made my job even more fun than usual with their relaxed attitudes for the day. They saw each other beforehand, and the entire wedding party met at the Nelson Art Museum. This place is just gorgeous if you are looking for an outdoor location for pictures! Despite the morning rain, and extreme humidity, the Nigro family were all troopers walking all over Loose Park for their big family session! Caiden is 5-Months Old!

Yesterday I had the great HONOR of photographing the amazing wedding of Anita and Kevin. These two did everything as non-traditional as possible -- starting with the day of the week for the big day being a Wednesday! I know that I haven't blogged in quite some time...but I was out of town this week for a seminar being put on by two AMAZING photographers Susan Stripling and Nate from the Image is Found!! It was a FULL day in Atlanta learning all sorts of new dramatic lighting. Using off-camera flash, and some video-lights I was able to get the pictures below -- cool huh? Any high school seniors out there who would like this look for their session?!?! :)

So this past Saturday was my first one "off" from shooting in a long time, so it was the perfect day to throw my best friend her baby shower! You probably remember her invites from several posts ago, but HERE is the book I created from the pictures. I asked everyone to write down a piece of advice, and she had to match who said what. I then took a picture of everyone, and created a book for her with all her guests and their advice! The cake was divine, and I built my first diaper cake...enjoy!

...Trolley Run!...

For all you runners out there, you know that yesterday was one of the biggest runs in Kansas City -- the TROLLEY RUN! This run benefits children that are visually impaired, and the course lets you run through some beautiful Brookside homes and ends at the Plaza with an after-bash. This was my fourth year in this 4-mile race, and it was a family affair for the first time. My Mom & Dad, sister Abbey and her boyfriend Matt, along with Dave (for his final race ever) ALL participated! While not my course record this year, I did run it in less than 36 minutes and Dave finished right behind me. It was a good time -- even if my Mom didn't win the new car... :)

For some of my past brides, you may already know this face -- but for some of my future brides meet Jenni! For the larger weddings, Jenni is my assistant for the course of your wedding day! She is a stickler for details -- in group shots she is making sure that everyone has their buttons buttoned, no Livestrong bands showing, and necklaces are all straight. She has my next round of memory cards ready, and helps tote some of my stuff around -- because there sure is a lot of it!

But of course, she likes to grab the camera sometimes and snap images of what I look like when shooting -- it isn't pretty, but at least the shots are FUNNY!! :)

...Danielle & Brent's Wedding Day!...

So last weekend was the wedding of Brent and Danielle -- and it was STUNNING! They were such a great couple, and since they agreed to see each other beforehand I was able to capture the moment so much better than if it had happened during the ceremony. Danielle was just the nicest, sweetest bride EVER -- not to mention beautiful! We jumped on a bus and headed to the Plaza for some post-ceremony pictures, and somehow found a spot among all of the prom people at the JC Nichols fountain. Congratulations to both of you -- the love you have for one another was SO apparent on my side of the lens!

...A Little History...

If you live anywhere near the Mahaffie House in Olathe -- this weekend you heard a LOT of activity, including cannon-fire! This past weekend marked the 11th annual Civil War re-enactment, and since I have lived here my whole life I thought that I would go and check it out on Sunday afternoon. And of course, I brought my camera...and used some "aging" effects in Photoshop for a couple of these images!

I love how they had the old-style camera out there too -- posing for a group picture. While most people took pictures of the soldiers, I had to get one of the camera! Not to mention the blacksmith, and a young girl who was trying to keep her bonnet on in the wind!

...A Mother's Day Surprise...

With Mother's Day right around the corner, a friend of mine thought that the best gift would be images of her sister's children as a surprise -- and I think that she was RIGHT! We took these in March, and now that she has given the prints I can post the event! She was really sneaky, and placed the prints into existing frames at the house -- just waiting for her sister to notice!

These two are brother and sister, and I couldn't believe how close they were. It was so much fun keeping up with their amazing energy -- it makes ME feel like a kid sometimes too! And these two have some great music taste -- Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan (I am told this is influenced by Dad) so I had to use Dylan since I am a big fan! HERE IS THEIR SLIDESHOW!

So today was a big day for the DHL and FedEx men -- or maybe it was ME... :)

DHL brought my brand new Dell laptop -- so I will be ready for the "One Day Two Ways" Seminar in Atlanta next month. And then the FedEx man brought me the biggest print that I have ever ordered of my work -- a 20"x30" canvas print! And my set of Europe Lantern images for the entry-way of our house. So LOTS of fun stuff to work on today!

This new laptop will mean some exciting capabilities are around the corner for my brides -- so stay tuned!

So Wednesday night my two great friends Amy and Heather came over for a little potluck, and it was just incredible to spend time with these two together. They are both pregnant, and I just loved listening to all of the things that they are going through. It made me appreciate good friends, and knowing that these little things are what life is all about. I just know that the both of them are going to be such GREAT mothers, and I can't wait to see that part of their lives unfold...

So today is the birthday of my husband-to-be, but thanks to our schedules (me volleyball, and him soccer) we don't get to celebrate tonight. But tomorrow some friends will be gathering at his favorite restaurant in town, JAZZ! Today was a little chilly, overcast, and they even predicted snow! But that didn't stop us from having a photo session out at Loose Park. Easter is a great weekend -- you get to see family and friends, and for me I get to eat chocolate again!!! I gave that up for Lent... :) Yesterday was Dave's family gathering, where there is a large Easter egg hunt on the farm. This is Ashlyn, Dave & I's niece after she was done gathering and counting her eggs on the hay bails!

Next week is a busy one, with an Engagement Session, a Senior Session, and then a wedding on Saturday. So stay tuned for LOTS of images!

So my best friend in the world is going to be having a baby this July, so we are all getting excited for her baby shower! I am hosting -- afterall she is going to be 8-months along standing up as my Matron of Honor -- and I got all crafty/creative for the invites. I was SO happy with the results, that I just had to post a couple of pictures of the finished product! I hole-punched the baby carriages from colors that match the nursery, glued them to brown cards (also a nursery color), and then printed/grommeted (is that a word?) the text inside to match the brown!

Anyways, that is my non-photo-oriented artist-project of the year...and I just wanted to share! :)

Sunday was also the day that I got to meet Ryan for his E-session with Danielle. It is always fun to do these shoots, because you get to know the couple before the big day! These two were so easy-going and fun -- they even climbed a pretty tall tree just for me! :) My normal tree was inhabited by another park-goer at the time -- so thanks guys!

Sunday afternoon was a BEAUTIFUL day for pictures, and I was able to work with Janna for her senior session! Her session was a gift from her Aunt, and she was SO much fun. Last Friday I had the opportunity to capture the beautiful wedding of Kelly & Stan at the Hawthorne House in Parkville, MO. It rained all morning, yet the clouds parted for us to take pictures during the afternoon and held-off until the reception began! We got some AMAZING images, including one of my now favorite of ALL TIME...this one!

Of course there are so many images that I loved, there are a LOT on here -- and their slideshow set to "Come Away With Me" which is such a beautiful first-dance. The flowers were done by An Eclectic Stem, and they were so much fun & tropical! See more images below, and their SLIDESHOW RIGHT HERE!

Our good friends Mark & Joel have been hunting for some lab puppies, and Sunday night after a long drive each brought home a black lab! Yesterday was National Photography Day, so I thought it would be fun to use them as my subjects and get to meet these two. They are TOO cute -- and yes Dave, I want one! :)

Now I KNOW that time is flying -- I photographed Gabby when she was just a baby, and now she is running/jumping/dancing/flipping all over the place! And now there is a new little girl in this family -- and isn't she just precious?!?! The day was beautiful, and thanks to their Mom for giving me the name of a new kid-music artist (Laurie Berkner)!

...A First Birthday...

On Saturday I was an honored guest at the 1st Birthday of little Alli -- and it was a Ladybug Birthday! It was her first taste of cake/sugar, and I think she really liked it! When she was all cleaned up from her bath (since there was icing in her hair from the cake-tasting) we went out to the park to get some family pictures -- it was a wonderful day! All of my friends/collegues know that my favorite photographer of all time is Miss Jessica Claire. And she is just about to release a SUPER COOL new line of camera bags for quick-shooting called Shootsacs! If I see a fabric that is blue and brown -- I am in trouble since I will be buying it to match my brand/colors! This will definitely be better than lugging my entire bag all over the park each weekend...

Last night Dave and I got to see the Samples again -- one of our favorite bands -- at the Beaumont Club. I have written about this place previously (HERE) when we saw them, just because they are SO great to let you bring in whatever camera gear you want! So I have a lot of great images of this band playing -- the lead singer Sean specifically. This is just a quick collage I put together of him and some from the show, and who knows -- he may read this someday! :)

And to show you how great they are to their fans -- Sean invited Rich AND Jason up on the stage to gust-play! This father/son duo was in the audience enjoying the show -- and while it took some convincing to get Jason on stage (well, downright carrying him up there) he did great! Rich is also a member of a band, so check them out HERE!

So I have had the privilege of getting to know another photographer in the area by the name of Jamie Miller. We were able to schedule some time together last night to just talk about all things photography! It is always fun to be able to do that, and share ideas, etc. with someone who shares the same passion that you do. So of COURSE, we had to snap a few images -- since Jamie didn't have a head shot yet!!!

Every once-in-a-while you have to do something a little different than your "norm". I wanted to do a shoot that was totally different than my usual stuff, so I found a GREAT model who had a little time one afternoon -- so here is my friend Eric who also does some incredible voice-work. I had a couple of interesting ideas and I can't wait to see them in a video!

It is so important to keep learning in life, and I have found that to be especially true for myself as a photographer. The bar is going to continue to rise, and I want to be right there with it -- if not MORE. Today I have been exploring more Actions that I recently purchased from the Boutwell's -- and this husband/wife team are amazing. The best part is going back to old events that I photographed, and seeing what new things I can do now that I didn't know about before. Here are just a couple of the BEAUTIFUL brides that I have photographed in my 9 years of photography!

...Mud, Mud and More Mud...

This past weekend, Dave and I got to join up with some friends and go 4-wheeling for the first time since Thanksgiving! Those poor quads were sad from sitting in the garage for so long -- so we made them feel better by getting them super muddy out at Deep Water! Oh, and did I mention MUD?

Since we had the afternoon, I wanted to take them to the Plaza for some images after our stop at Loose Park, and I am so happy that we did! I love when prints are finished on canvas -- they just have this very high-end/artistic feel to them that you just cannot get with any other finishing! I just had two 16"x20" display canvases arrive from the FedEx man today -- and I had to get some photos of them on the blog for everyone to see because they are STUNNING!

So last night in Kansas City we had a pretty major storm, with good-sized hail and TONS of heavy rain. But about 10 minutes before it all started, I looked at the sky and had to run outside with my camera! It only lasted a few minutes, but check out some of the shots taken out front of my house!

I know that change is a good thing -- but it is hard when it takes so long! With my website and all of my slideshows down, I am just thankful that I can still blog.

My new web design company has told me that it will be live as soon as possible, and it couldn't come soon enough. As soon as it is up and running, I will have a post here and start re-uploading my slideshows to the new server they are running for me. Thanks for the patience, and here is a quick shot of little Trent that makes me smile whenever I see it -- back from Fall 2005!!

Yesterday was a beautiful day compared to the weather we have had, so it worked our perfectly for Michelle & Paul to BOTH be in the country at the same time, AND in Kansas! The trip was a GREAT success -- and the new snowboard that I bought was better than I thought it would be! We hit some great tree runs, and there was a lot of powder/fresh snow on the last day of the trip at Keystone -- so here are some favorites and a slideshow!

Well, tomorrow I am leaving town for my first snowboarding trip of the season -- and we are giving the whole bus-deal a go. This is where the bus takes a whole group down on Wednesday night, and by the time you get to CO you are ready to hit the slopes Thursday morning! Hopefully it will be great, and Dave and I will be able to sleep overnight both there and back on Sunday.

Everyone knows how cold it is outside in this lovely state of Kansas, so we decided to take most of Jennifer & Ian's pictures indoors at Union Station. Luckily this place is AMAZING to shoot in, with great lighting a neat locations. But of course I made them go outside for just a couple -- and they were GREAT sports!! :)

This past October my two great friends Luke & Jamie were married -- and of course it was a time to see friends that I hadn't seen in YEARS, including John who is now in CA. It is a rare occassion that I get to attend a wedding as a guest!

Well, we had to take a photo of Luke, with every roommate that he had in college -- and even I was surprised with how many there were! So I wanted to do something fun, and asked everyone to try and kiss Luke -- and there was only 1 taker for that idea...JOHN!

I think that you all knew that this one was coming -- the re-branding, and some big changes on the horizon -- well the time is FINALLY here. Peters Photography is now my full-time job, and now I will be able to introduce new products and really do what I love.

We returned to Kansas City yesterday from our trip, and of course it went just too FAST. But riding in a jet plane sure beats commercial flight! Arrive 10 minutes before departure, and having a limo waiting for you when you arrive is just too awesome! Besides some public transportation issues, the trip was a MAJOR success. And I will get to all e-mails tonight so don't worry if you contacted me over the weekend! :)

We stopped here for some tea to warm up in the cold!

...My Kind of Town - CHICAGO...

Tomorrow morning is the day that Dave and I take off for a quick vacation to Chicago! I am so excited, as this is a trip that I won at my day-job. Company plane, hotel, and some spending money for fun things like a Blackhawks game, and the musical "Wicked" -- we are sure to have a great time! Plus my family is originally from Chicago, so I know the city just a little bit! We don't have much time though -- so packing in as much as possible!!!And with the Bears being in the Superbowl NEXT weekend, I am sure that this town is truly celebrating. So watch out for a lot of pictures when I return, and then wedding stuff is going to really pick up!!

Right before Christmas, I had a get-together with all of the girls that I lived with in college, and their significant-others -- it was so much fun to all be together again since it happens so rarely. But the part that made the night even better, was my best friend Amy announcing that she was PREGNANT!
